Our Lady of the Lake University bowling team to tour
 South Texas during winter break
‘Texas Tour' designed to promote emerging collegiate sport
Members of Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU)Bowling Team are hitting the road this winter break in an effort to promote this emerging collegiate sport, one enjoyed by 95 million people in more than 90 countries worldwide (Fit4FunFitness). The sport at OLLU is designated as an emerging sport under the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

The Club Bowling Teamwas formed in the fall of 2009 by students Ernesto Silva and Emily Dzierski. Silva said, "the tour will give us the opportunity to inform high school seniors and other students that the Lake has a bowling program. They can get a great education at a university that is close to home, and at the same time, play on the bowling team." Silva, a junior business major, is a native of Harlingen and attended Harlingen High School, while Dzierski, a senior psychology major, is from Houston and attended Clear Brook High School.

High schoolers and local bowlers are invited to come out and enjoy the games in their area. During the tour, informational packets on OLLU will be available, and many OLLU mementos will be given away to those who attend the games.

Sponsors of OLLU's bowling team are Ernesto Silva, Platillo's, Manny Vela, BeautiControl, Creasey's Bowl and Puente Roofing.
