Picked to finish fifth out of a slate of seven teams in the Red River Athletic Conference, the inaugural Our Lady of the Lake University Saints softball team remains undefeated in conference play. After next week's games against Texas Wesleyan University and on March 23 against Huston-Tillotson University, the Saints will have faced all Red River teams once and will begin the second round.

The OLLU Saints softball team split a doubleheader with Evangel University from Springfield, Miss., Tuesday afternoon, 7-3 and 3-12. The results of the nonconference games put the Saints at 13-5 overall for the season. The Crusaders, who are 5-6 overall, have not played a conference game this year, but last year finished first in the NAIA Division I Heart of America Athletic Conference with a record of 17-3.

The Saints softball team took on Texas College in a double header March 6 and came away with two wins -- 6-0 and 10-1. The Saints are now 10-0 in conference and remain the number one team in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC).
