
SIOUX CITY, IOWA (Dec. 5, 2011) --The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced Friday that 392 volleyball student-athletes have been named 2011 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Selected from Our Lady of the Lake University were: Amanda Bonds, Liza Rodriguez and Tasha Yancey.
Student-athletes from OLLU were nominated by the sports information officer. To be nominated, each must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status in order qualify for the honor.

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (Nov. 10, 2011) -- During the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament banquet this evening, All-Conference selectees were named. From Our Lady of the Lake University, sophomore Margaret Nurse was selected to the first team. Seniors Liza Rodriguez and Tasha Yancey received second-team honors, and Desirea Aguilar and Elyse Escobar were named to the honorable mention team.
In addition, Jennifer Herrera and Suzie Pena were selected to the Champions of Character team.

e Capital One Academic All-District Women's Volleyball Team, presented by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Nominations for the awards are submitted by members of the association. News and Sports Information Officer Patty Constantin represents OLLU in the association.
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 10, 2011) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team is set to begin its participation in the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) tournament as the No. 3 seed against the No. 6 seed University of St. Thomas – Houston (UST) in Brownsville, Texas. The quarterfinals match is set for 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11.
The Lady Saints come into the tournament after an extremely tough regular season ending with a 9-17 overall record, but they went 7-2 in conference play, and that earned them the No. 3 seed.

BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS (Nov. 1, 2011) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team played its last game of the regular season last night and lost in three sets to the University of Texas at Brownsville.
The Lady Scorpions, ranked No. 2 in the nation, finished their season with a 24-2 overall and a perfect 9-0 conference record, while the Lady Saints finish the season 9-17 and 7-2 in conference. The Saints' only other conference loss was to Wiley College.
