SAN ANTONIO (July 7, 2010) -- Our Lady of the Lake University announced that Priscilla J. Loredo has signed to play softball for the University during the 2010-2011 season. Loredo is a native of La Feria, Texas, where she attended La Feria High School.

SAN ANTONIO (June 25, 2010) - Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) announced the appointment of James M. Kling as the head coach for the University's softball team. His official start date is July 5. He will replace former Head Coach Marie Stone.

NFCA Announces 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NAIA All-Region Teams
 
STARKVILLE, MISS. (May 20, 2010) -- The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has announced the 2010 Louisville Slugger/NFCA NAIA All-Region teams.
 
Saints freshmen Corina Noel and Dawn Villegas were named to the All-Region Second Team in the Southwest Region.
     
This season, 152 student-athletes representing 58 institutions were chosen for either a first or second team in each of the five NFCA regions.

Our Lady of the Lake University garnered four of the five individual honors and placed three players in the2010 RRAC All-Conference Softball Team. Dawn Villegas was named Player of the Year, Corina Noel received Newcomer of the Year and Ashley Elizalde picked up Defensive Player of the Year. All three players are freshmen.
 
Coach Marie Stone was chosen as Coach of the Year, marking the third OLLU head coach to receive this honor in 2010 (Russell Vandlandingham -- men's basketball and Eric Moore -- men's golf).

FARMERS BRANCH, TEXAS: After a first round bye, the Our Lady of the Lake University Saints lost 4-5 to the Northwood University Knights in 10 innings in the second round of the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on April 30.
 
Defending champion Northwood advanced to defeat top-seeded Texas Wesleyan, 6-2, to earn a spot in Saturday's championship game.
 
The second-seeded Saints moved to the loser's bracket and took on Bacone College, who earlier lost to the University of the Southwest. The Saints beat the Rams 7-3 and will continue on in the tournament at 10 a.m. on Saturday against the University of the Southwest.
 
The winner between OLLU and Southwest will go up against Texas Wesleyan University at noon on Saturday, and the winner of that game will take on Northwood University in the championship game at 4 p.m.
