Junior outside hitter Lauren Eveler was chosen to the ESPN Academic All-District 6 Volleyball Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSiDA) and presented by ESPN The Magazine.

Volleyball coaches in the Red River Athletic Conference chose sophomore Liza Rodriguez as a member of the 2009 All-Red River Athletic Conference First Team. Rodriguez, who is a right side/outside hitter, finished the season with 192 kills and a hitting percentage of .294.

The OLLU Saints volleyball team won the quarterfinals against Texas Wesleyan University on the morning of Nov. 13, and lost  the semifinals against the University of Texas at Brownsville later that afternoon, to end their 2009 season. The Red River Athletic Conference No. 5-ranked Saints finished their season with a record of 16-11.

The OLLU community wished the Saints a fond farewell and joined in a blessing before the team left for the  Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Championship Tournament in Fort Worth.
 
The No. 5 seeded Saints will compete against No. 4 seeded Texas Wesleyan University (TWU) at 11 a.m. on Nov. 13. Access live stats at the TWU athletics site, or for regular updates, follow the Saints on Twitter at www.twitter.come/OLLUSaints.
