OLLU Head Men's Basketball Coach Russell Vanlandingham, along with Marquet Norfleet of Texas College, has been named Coach of the Year in the 2009-2010 Red River Athletic Conference. In addition, freshman Dionelle Rucker was selected as Newcomer of the Year and a member of the First-Team All Conference. Freshman Robert Martinez was selected to the Second Team, and Curtis Bowens Jr. and Keonte Logan received Honorable Mention.

The Saints ended their season Thursday night with a heartbreaking 79-85 loss to Wiley College in the Red River Athletic Conference Tournament.

Texas Wesleyan University clinched the RRAC men's basketball regular season championship with an 87-85 victory over Our Lady of the Lake University on Saturday night. TWU will enter the 2010 RRAC Men's Basketball Tournament on March 4-6 in Waxahachie, Texas, as the top seed. OLLU will be the second seed, while Texas College and Huston-Tillotson round out the top four seeds.

The Saints men's basketball team suffered a heartbreaking 87-85 loss to Texas Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon in Fort Worth. The team closes out its season in a tie for first place with TWU with conference records of 16-4. OLLU's overall record is 19-10 while TWU's is 22-8.
The Saints will gear up for the Red River Athletic Conference Championship Tournament that begins on March 4 as the no. 2 seed right behind TWU. The Saints are scheduled to play at 6 p.m.

Freshman forward Dionelle Rucker logged his seventh double-double of the season and senior Justin Porter played his last home game of his career to help the Saints pull off the overtime 104-95 win Thursday night against Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU). With the Saints win, and the Thursday night overtime loss by Texas Wesleyan University (TWU) against Huston-Tillotson, the Saints now sit alone at the top of the Red River Conference with a record of 16-3 and 19-9 overall. TWU drops to second place with a record of 15-4, while SAGU drops to eight games behind with a record of 8-11 in the conference and 11-18 overall.
