The Saints men's golf team took third place by shooting back-to-back 315s in the Schreiner Spring Shootout at Comanche Trace March 1-2.The University ofTexas at Tyler claimed top honors over the University of Texas at Brownsville, who was the runner-up. Schreiner University was fourth at 636, followed by UT-Dallas at 650, Concordia-Texas at 651, Hardin-Simmons at 661, Louisiana College at 700 and Texas A&M International at 707.

In their first tournament of the spring, the Saints finished in third place in the 11th Annual Sen. Eddie Lucio Collegiate Invitational Golf Tournament Monday at the South Padre Island Golf Club. Saints freshman Aaron Flores finished in no. 1 place with an opening round score of 69 and a 73 on Monday for a two-day score of 142. Flores finished the final four holes with a par-birdie-birdie-par and took home the medalist plaque.

Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU) men's golf team competed in Cedar Hill earlier this week in the Tangle Ridge Shootout sponsored by Northwood University. The Saints finished in eigth place.
 
Freshman Aaron Flores shot a 76 in the first round and a 70 in the final round of the tournament to finish with a score of 146. Flores placed 3rd out of a slate of 48 golfers.

Despite being in only its second season of existence, the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf program is enjoying unprecedented success. The team was ranked 20th in the nation in the Golfstat Oct. 15 NAIA men's golf rankings. The ranking comes only two weeks after the Saints cracked the top 25.
 
Golf Coach Eric Moore understands the importance of the exposure that comes with a national ranking.

Sophomore Adam Palacios placed 9th overall for the Saints, finishing with a three-round total of 218 (65/76/77) in the St. Mary's University Bruce Williams Memorial Invitational at the Dominion Golf Course in San Antonio held Sept. 28-29.
