SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 6, 2012)—The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's basketball won a narrow victory over the University of St. Thomas (UST) 77-74 in a conference game Saturday afternoon at Mabee Gymnasium.
 

The win puts the Saints' overall record at 18-4, and the team stays on top of the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) with a conference record of 15-1. LSU-Shreveport sits one and a half games behind the Saints (16-6/14-3), while Texas Wesleyan University (17-4/12-3) is two and a half games back, and St. Thomas (14-8/12-4) drops to three games behind in fourth place.

WACO, TEXAS (Jan. 31, 2012) -- Marco Cooper of Our Lady of the Lake University ) was named Red River Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played over the dates of Jan. 23-29. Cooper shares the award with Jeremy Lewis of the University of St. Thomas.

SHREVEPORT, LA. (Jan.30, 2012) -- In 2009, the unranked Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's basketball team notched its most impressive win of the season when it beat Louisiana State University-Shreveport (LSUS). Back then, the Pilots were ranked No. 6 in the Top 25 NAIA Poll and were undefeated. Two years later, the No. 5-ranked Saints recorded their first loss of the season at the hands of unranked LSUS.

 

After winning 15 consecutive games, the Saints fell to LSUS 74-83. As the nation's leader in scoring offense (2,203/100.136), the game was the Saints' lowest-scoring conference game of the season.

 

OLLU is now 14-1 (17-4) in the Red River Athletic Conference and a full two games ahead of second-place LSUS (12-3/14-6). At No. 14 in the NAIA, Texas Wesleyan University (11-3/16-4) is tied for third place with the University of St.Thomas (11-3/14-7).

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 30, 2012) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's basketball team moves up two slots to No. 5 in the 2011-2012 NAIA Division I Men's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced this afternoon. Shorter (Ga.) holds on to No. 1 in the sixth regular season edition of the poll.


Checking in at No. 2 is Robert Morris (Ill.) and at No. 3 is Southern Poly (Ga.). Last week's No. 3 Oklahoma Baptist University fell to No. 4 after losing to unranked John Brown (Ark.).

MARSHALL, TEXAS (Jan. 28, 2012) -- Six players scored in double digits to lead the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's basketball team to its 15th consecutive win. The Saints overcame a 13-point deficit to beat Wiley College 96-88 in Marshall, Texas.

 

OLLU is atop the Red River Athletic Conference with a 14-0 record (17-3). The Saints are three games ahead of LSU-Shreveport (11-3/13-6) and the University of St. Thomas (11-3/13-7). Texas Wesleyan University (10-3/15-4) trails at three-and-a-half games behind.
