SAN ANTONIO (March 7, 2013) – Members of the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) soccer teams participated in the Fourth Annual TOPSoccer Festival hosted by Morgan's Wonderland and STAR Soccer Complex on March 2.

The event's sponsors included Star Soccer Complex, San Antonio Scorpions, Morgan's Wonderland, NEYSO Special Teams, Missions Road Ministries  and South Texas Youth Soccer (STYSA).

Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) graduate student and women's soccer player, Rebekah Valenta, has been selected to receive the 2012 Ima Hogg Scholarship for Mental Health. She is one of 11 students in Texas to receive a $5,000 scholarship, which is awarded to graduate students of social work who have demonstrated a strong commitment to providing mental health services after graduation.

SAN ANTONIO (November 2012) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University women's soccer team has announced the signing of three from the Houston area. Gabriela Colina, Daniela Colina and Hailey Tiernay will join the squad in 2013.

ORANGE BEACH, ALA. (Nov. 30, 2012) -- The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 492 women's soccer student-athletes have been named 2012 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athletes. Our Lady of the Lake University has six individuals on the list.

In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (Nov. 9, 2012) -- The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's soccer team lost 1-2 to the University of Texas at Brownsville on Friday afternoon to end its season.

Brownsville advances to the championship match of the Red River Athletic Conference that takes place on Nov. 10 at 1 p.m. The Scorpions will face Texas Wesleyan University, who beat Northwood in the semifinals round.
 

The NAIA Champions of Character program aims to instill five core values in NAIA athletes, coaches: respect, responsibility, integrity, servant leadership, and sportsmanship. Our Lady of the Lake University shares and supports these values and strives to promote the Champions of Character program by working with students, coaches through our Champions of Character educational program.
