WACO, TEXAS (July 2, 2015) -- The Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) released its 2014-2015 academic awards this week. A total of 692 student-athletes from all RRAC schools are recognized as scholar-athletes for achieving a 3.0 average or better during the last academic year.
Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) registered the most student-athletes with GPAs of 3.0 and above in the conference. The 86 OLLU student-athletes recognized include 10 with a 4.0 GPA, 31 with GPAs between 3.5-3.99 and 45 with GPAs between 3.0 and 3.49. In addition, of the 15 sports the Red River sponsors, baseball had the most scholar athletes, followed by women's soccer, men's soccer, volleyball, softball, women's basketball, men's basketball, women's track and field, women's cross-country, men's track and field, women's tennis, men's golf, men's cross-country, men's tennis and women's golf.

The Saints' 86 scholar athletes are the most in OLLU's five years with the Red River Athletic Conference. In 2009-2010, the Saints had 55 scholar athletes and were recognized with the conference's Top GPA Award; in 2010-2011, OLLU had 52; in 2011-2012, 49; in 2012-2013, 82 and in 2013-2014, OLLU had 83 scholar athletes.

The University of St. Thomas has been named the 2014-2015 RRAC GPA Champion with a team combined 3.08.
