VICTORIA, TEXAS (Feb. 19, 2017) -- Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf completed two rounds and hold on to third place in the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) Claud Jacobs Collegiate Invitational at the Victoria Country Club. The B team is in a tie for sixth place.
Head Coach Alan E. Baxter commented, "Not having Christopher Schriedel (SR/Helotes, Texas) put more pressure on us. We did not respond. The first round was the worst we have played all year. I was pleased that we played better under worse conditions for the second round. The team really stepped up and accepted the challenge. The B team showed promise. We still have a chance to win this tournament. We will see if we can chase Wayland Baptist down, which will be a challenge as they are a top seven nationally ranked team."
In first place is Wayland Baptist with an overall 595 after posting a first round 303 and second round 292. In second place is Tyler Junior College at 598 (305/293).
