VICTORIA, TEXAS (Dec. 8. 2017) - The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) baseball team has announced the signing of Noah Rodriguez from Victoria, Texas.
The 5'11" middle infielder attends Victoria West High School and will join the team in the fall of 2018.
Head Coach Bryan Aughney commented, "Noah is an outstanding four-sport student athlete who has great athleticism and baseball IQ. He comes from a great program at Victoria West and brings a blue collar work ethic to the field every day. He is coming off a season which he garnered All-State honors and is going to be a vital part of our future success for the next four years. We are excited to have Noah joing our program as he will represent OLLU well on the field, in the classroom and in the community."
The Saints will begin their fourth season in the spring of 2018 and their first under Aughney, who joined the staff earlier this year.
Their first game of the 2018 season will be an exhibition with Hero Sports, a group made up of military veterans and active-duty members of the Armed Forces. The Saints' first regular season competitions will be on Jan. 26 with a doubleheader against the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma - the No. 11 ranked team in the NAIA. Their doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m., and will be followed with a single game on Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
