VICTORIA, TEXAS (Sept. 25, 2018) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team finished in second place at the University of Houston-Victoria (UHV) Fall Classic. The tournament took place at the Victoria Country Club.
Head Coach Alan E. Baxter commented, "We shot the best round of the day today. We threw away a bunch of shots. We need to grind and work much harder. I am proud of all the guys. Next up is Cog Hill."

Capturing the tournament was Texas A&M International University with a score of 878 (292/284/302). OLLU took sole possesion of second place with an overall 890 (297/298/295). UHV (306/291/298) tied for third place with Tyler Junior College (302/293/300) with a score of 895. In fifth was the University of St. Thomas at 908 (303/303/302), followed by a second UHV team at 911 (298/302/311) and Jacksonville College at 967 (324/319/324).
Kane Ybarra (JR/San Antonio, Texas) led the way for the Saints, finishing in a tie for third place, with a 1-under par 215. Louis Flynn (SR/Surrey, England) improved from a 16th place first day to a tie for seventh place with fellow Saint Steve Landry (SR/Cibolo, Texas) (pictured at left). Both shot a 6-over par 222. Raul Gutierrez (FR/San Antonio, Texas) had a score of 233 (79/79/75) and Daniel Jones (FR/Comfort, Texas) shot a 237 (77/79/81)
What's next
The Saints will travel to Lemont, Ill., next for the Flyers Invitational hosed by Lewis University at Cog Hill Golf Course. The two-day tournament takes place Oct. 1-2.
