SAN ANTONIO (Feb. 21, 2019) – Unfortunately, the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's basketball team has ended its season with an overall 6-20 record and 4-14 in the Red River Athletic Conference. Last night, they fell to Jarvis Christian College 86-92. Jarvis will head out to the tournament as the last seed. They finish the regular season with an overall 8-10 record and 11-14 in conference.
Before the start of the game, the Saints honored senior Brandon Joseph (SR/Houston, Texas), who played his last game with OLLU.
The Saints are 16-5 against the Bulldogs. Earlier this season, they lost to Jarvis 92-111.
The Saints battled the Bulldogs fiercely, and both teams kept the game close as Jarvis went up by five, and the Saints fought back to tie at 9-9. The Saints tied three more times, but could not gain any momentum to lead. The half ended with Jarvis leading 34-27.
The second half increased the Bulldogs dominance, as they took a double-digit lead at the eighth minute. They kept it under 20, until the 2nd minute, when Brandon Joseph made a 3-pointer to have his team trail 74-83. Joseph would go on to score a career high 28 points. Michael Saladin (JR/Beaumont, Texas) closed out the game with a 3-pointer to trail by six, but the Bulldogs were able to prevail to win 87-93.
On the Jarvis side, Eric Steward scored 19 points for his team.

The Saints combined for 26-of-64 from the field for 40.6 percent, 5-of-15 from beyond the arc for 33.3 percent and 29-of-37 from the charity stripe for 78.4 percent. Jarvis was 31-of-63 shooting for 49.2 percent, 5-of-8 from the three-point line for 62.5 percent and 25-of-35 free throws for 71.4 percent. OLLU tallied 40 rebounds and Jarvis had 36. Additionally, the Saints forced 22 turnovers and committed 21.
