HOUSTON (April 26, 2021) - Four members of the Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's and women's track teams participated in the 16th Annual J. Fred Duckett Rice Twilight Meet last Saturday.
Head Coach Patrick Torress commented, "Rice is a fun meet, the environment is awesome, and we wanted to give the athletes close to school records another chance to get the record they're chasing. Everyone ran well, but two standouts were Nadia Sifuentes and Nathaniel Rodriguez. Nadia PR'd by 10 seconds in the 1500m and is now No. 2 all-time in OLLU history. She's just tapping into the potential she has, and being 0.2 seconds off of the record should motivate her to train really hard over the summer. Nate had the biggest night, an 11-second PR and school record. He set up his race perfectly, and I'm proud of his progress over the course of the season. Two PRss and a school record is an excellent way to cap off the season.
