OKLAHOMA CITY (Sept. 1, 2021) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team finished in 11th place after improving from 12th place on the first day. Nineteen teams played at the Oklahoma City University (OKC) Ferguson Classic. The course has a par of 71 and is 6,518 yards.
Head Coach Arnie Martinez said, "Oklahoma City was a good experience. The tournament was great, it was well ran and the course was in great shape. We didn't play our best but the golfers did a lot of good things out there. Good play by Massimo Garcia and freshman Oliver Gaisford helped us out. It's the first event of the year and we saw what we need to work on going forward. It was a strong field with top teams in the country and the scores showed it. We have work to do and we are looking forward to getting out there and getting better. The potential is through the roof with this team. I'm excited to see what they do. Go Saints!"
OKC took first with a score of 815, followed by New Mexico Junior College at 835, while Southwestern Christian University and Western Texas Community College tied at 840. Morningside College was next at 851, followed by The Master's University at 857, Briar Cliff University at 863, Southwestern Christian University (B) and Oklahoma City University (B) at 870, Northwestern College - IA at 872 and OLLU at 878.
