WACO, TEXAS (March 6, 2023) – Alec Martinez of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) captured the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week award for Feb. 27-March 5. This is the sixth set of weekly honors for the 2023 baseball season.

Martinez limited fourth-ranked LSU Shreveport to three hits in a 2-1 win on Saturday. The senior right-hander from Corpus Christi, Texas, struck out six, walked three and allowed one run in seven innings of work. Martinez is 3-0 on the season and boasts a league-leading 0.67 ERA. The Saints climbed to the top of the RRAC standings at 7-2 with a mark of 13-9 on the season.
