Saints Finish Series Sweep with 22–0 Finale Victory
San Antonio, Texas- Our Lady of the Lake completed a three-game sweep of Texas College with a dominant performance across the series, finishing with a commanding 22–0 victory in the finale after earlier wins of 4–0 and 7–3.
The Saints opened the weekend with a strong all-around performance in a 4–0 shutout. Donovan Gamez delivered a complete game effort on the mound, pitching seven scoreless innings while allowing five hits and striking out eight. Despite Texas College putting runners on base with four walks, Gamez consistently worked out of trouble and kept the Steers off the scoreboard.
Offensively, the Saints produced nine hits and applied steady pressure throughout the game. Benjamin Hovda led the way with two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Brett Atkinson added a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs, while Diego Zuniga contributed two hits including a double. Christian Martinez added a hit and scored a run, and Kayden Holz provided a spark on the bases, scoring twice after entering as a pinch runner. The Saints also turned a key double play defensively to halt one of Texas College's best scoring opportunities.
Our Lady of the Lake secured the series victory in game two with a 7–3 win behind a balanced offensive effort and a strong bullpen performance. The Saints finished with 12 hits, highlighted by CaliEvan Billela-Barstow's triple and two RBIs. Jack Kalisky continued his productive series with a 3-for-5 performance that included two doubles and two RBIs.
Joshua Milton added two hits and drove in a run, while Jacob Cueva and Christian Martinez each recorded an RBI. Alex Rodriguez also collected two hits, and Benjamin Hovda added a hit, a run scored, and a stolen base.
Omar Rodriguez earned the win after pitching five innings and allowing three runs, two earned, while striking out five. Josh Ruiz handled the final four innings out of the bullpen, allowing just one hit and striking out four to record the save and secure the series win for the Saints.
The Saints closed the weekend in emphatic fashion with a 22–0 victory to complete the sweep. Our Lady of the Lake erupted for 16 hits and drew 11 walks while scoring in multiple innings to break the game open early.
Brett Atkinson led the offensive explosion with two hits, including a triple, and three RBIs. Aiden Gonzalez delivered two hits and drove in two runs, while Josh Ruiz added a triple and two RBIs. Jacoby Turner contributed a hit and an RBI, and Alex Rodriguez added another run batted in.
Several players also reached base multiple times and scored runs as the Saints lineup produced contributions from top to bottom. CaliEvan Billela-Barstow recorded two hits and scored a run, while Benjamin Hovda drew two walks and scored once. Jack Kalisky drove in a run and scored twice, while Joshua Milton and Christian Martinez each added RBIs. Jasiah Carraman added two hits including a double, and Jimmy Bowden drove in a run as part of the offensive surge.
On the mound, Noah Ferraro delivered a strong start, pitching five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out seven to earn the win. Xavior Salazar and Manuel Flores followed in relief, combining to finish the shutout as the pitching staff held Texas College to just three hits in the game.
The sweep highlighted a complete team effort as Our Lady of the Lake outscored Texas College 33–3 over the course of the series.
