WACO, TEXAS (Nov. 5, 2024)  - Rob Gil of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) was named Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Defensive Player of the Week for Oct. 28-Nov. 3. This is the first weekly award of the 2024-25 men's basketball season, and this marks the introduction of a new RRAC award for defensive player of the week.

Gil collected four steals in the Saints' 82-70 victory over Southern University-New Orleans (SUNO). The senior guard from San Antonio also grabbed four defensive rebounds as OLLU moved to 2-0 on the season.
