Saints Drop Road Game Against Raiders

Klamath Falls, Oregon- Our Lady of the Lake University's men's basketball team showed determination despite an 83–56 setback against a sharp-shooting Southern Oregon squad. While the final score favored the Raiders, the Saints demonstrated a competitiveness and resilience that reflected a program continuing to build toward a stronger identity and a more cohesive offensive rhythm.

From the opening tip, OLLU leaned on its trademark energy and willingness to scrap for opportunities. Isaiah Moore provided an early spark, attacking the rim with confidence and finishing with nine points on a highly efficient 4-of-7 shooting. His poise set the tone for a Saints team that repeatedly found chances inside despite a tough Southern Oregon interior. Arthur Celestin Jr. matched Moore's impact with nine points of his own, delivering steady scoring and composure when the Saints needed it most.

The Saints bench, often a strength of the program, delivered another encouraging performance. Matthew Gonzalez was outstanding in his minutes, shooting a perfect 3-for-3 from deep and scoring nine points, giving OLLU a crucial perimeter lift. His ability to stretch the floor opened driving lanes and provided a momentum jolt in key stretches. Devontae Da Costa battled for every rebound and loose ball, finishing with six boards and showing the physicality that anchors OLLU's interior presence. Barack Holland added five points and continued to provide the all-around hustle the Saints rely on.

Rebounding against a larger Southern Oregon frontcourt was a challenge throughout the night, yet OLLU still managed to gather 35 boards, including 14 on the offensive end. That second-chance effort kept possessions alive. Wahkil Lopez provided five rebounds of his own, asserting himself on the glass and giving the Saints valuable physicality in the paint.

Defensively, OLLU forced the Raiders into difficult phases of execution, particularly with ball pressure from the guard line. Jaydin Morin-Bishop contributed on both ends, adding six points while helping disrupt Southern Oregon's rhythm.

Where the Saints struggled most was simply converting the looks they created. Despite generating 67 field-goal attempts, the shots didn't fall at the rate the team is capable of. Yet shooting nights fluctuate; effort and identity do not. OLLU continued to move the ball, attack the rim, and trust its depth.

The Saints will play again tomorrow at 9:30 PM CST against Oregon Tech.
