Saints Survive Double Overtime Thriller

San Antonio, Texas- Our Lady of the Lake men's basketball outlasted North American in a dramatic double-overtime battle, earning a 93–92 victory that showcased the Saints depth and competitive maturity. In a game that stretched well beyond regulation and tested both teams physically and mentally, OLLU repeatedly answered the challenge and delivered when it mattered most.
The Saints controlled long stretches with balanced scoring and defensive intensity, refusing to break despite North American's size and rebounding advantage. Jaydin Morin-Bishop was central to OLLU's effort, playing all 45 minutes and finishing with 19 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. His energy and defensive pressure were critical in both overtime periods, as he consistently disrupted passing lanes and ignited momentum-shifting plays.
Jermey Irwin provided steady production throughout the night, scoring 19 points on efficient shooting while battling through foul trouble. Kenyon Elliott added 16 points and five rebounds, converting timely baskets and free throws during late-game possessions. Off the bench, Barack Holland delivered a strong performance with 15 points and seven rebounds, giving the Saints valuable scoring and toughness during extended minutes.
OLLU's depth proved decisive as the game wore on. DJ Smith contributed 10 points in just 18 minutes, while Wahkil Lopez made a significant defensive impact with five blocks, protecting the rim during critical stretches in overtime. As a team, the Saints recorded 10 steals and forced 19 turnovers, turning defensive stops into scoring opportunities when fatigue became a factor.
North American was led by Joseph Cormier's 22 points and Jamarric Hammond's 18, while Naheim Northern dominated the glass with 11 rebounds. Despite those efforts and a plus margin on the boards, North American was unable to fully capitalize, as OLLU's defensive discipline and execution in high-pressure moments kept the Saints within striking distance.
In the closing seconds of double overtime, Our Lady of the Lake made the final stand after a missed North American free throw. The Saints dribbled it out to take down the Stallions. The Saints will be back in action Saturday against Xavier University at 3:00 PM CDT.
