San Antonio, Texas- The Our Lady of the Lake Saints were defeated 81–70 by the LSU Shreveport Pilots in a conference matchup marked by strong interior play and balanced scoring.
Our Lady of the Lake remained competitive throughout the contest, placing four players in double figures. Jermey Irwin led the Saints with 12 points and seven rebounds, while Isaiah Moore added 11 points and two steals. Matthew Gonzalez provided a key lift off the bench, scoring 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting, including two three-pointers. Barack Holland and Santiago Ochoa each contributed nine points, with Ochoa also dishing out a team-high five assists.
The Saints shot 39.3 percent from the field and connected on 38.1 percent of their three-point attempts, keeping pace offensively for much of the game. They also showed defensive activity, recording seven steals and five blocked shots. However, LSU Shreveport's efficiency and rebounding presence proved decisive. Despite the final margin, the Saints continued to compete and received balanced contributions across the lineup.
The team will look to Tuesday as they will host Texas A&M-Texarkana at 7:00 PM CDT at home. This will be the opening round of the RRAC tournament.
