Forrest Blackwell joined the OLLU Men’s Basketball coaching staff as assistant coach in the fall of 2023.

He comes from John Paul II Catholic High School in Schertz, Texas, where he taught from 2013-2023. While there, he was the assistant coach for the girls’ varsity and boys’ varsity teams from 2013-2015. In 2015, he became the boys’ varsity head coach through 2023. His teams’ accomplishments include six straight winning seasons (2018-2023), seven straight playoff appearances (2017-2023), four-time district championships (2020, 2021, 2022, 2023), two-time regional championships (2020, 2022), 2022 State Semifinals and 2022 State Championships Runners-Up.

Blackwell’s coaching awards include 2022 representative for “Team San Antonio” as a coach in the “Jordan Clarkson San Antonio vs. Austin All-Star Game.” He won the 2023 TABC Don Coleman Outstanding Coach of the Year award.

Blackwell is a native of San Antonio.
