HOBBS, N.M. (Oct. 8, 2024) – Our Lady of the Lake University's (OLLU) Oliver Gaisford is in first place, while newcomer Oscar Gutierrez shot a hole-in-one on the first day of the University of the Southwest (USW) Fall Invitational. The golf tournament began on Monday and is taking place at the Rockwind Community Links Golf Course in Hobbs, N.M.

The Saints are in fourth place out of 10 teams on the leaderboard. The men tallied a first-round 300 and a second-round 287 for a total of 587. In first place is Texas Wesleyan University with a 574, followed by Texas A&M University-San Antonio at 583, and the Texas Wesleyan B team with a 586.

After OLLU are McMurry University at 594, USW at 595, Concordia-Texas at 610, Oklahoma Panhandle University at 618, USW B Team at 650, and Mesalands Community College at 654.

Oliver Gaisford leads the entire player leaderboard with a first-round 70 and an impressive 66 second round - the third best in Saints history - to finish the first day at 136. Oscar Gutierrez hit a hole-in-one in 164 yards at the 10th hole of the Rockwind course. He finished the day in ninth place at 71 in the first round and 73 in the second in his debut as part of the Saints team.

Niall Langley-Brook is in 10th with a first-round 76 and second-round 69. John Martinez shot a first-round 71 and a second-round 78. Andreas Skaar shot a 79 first-round and 72 second round. Jake Casias marked a first-round 81 and 76 second-round. Ozil Salinas recorded a first-round 80 and a second-round 77.
