PLAINVIEW, TEXAS (Oct. 17, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's golf team finished third in the Chicken Express Classic sponsored by Wayland Baptist University on Oct. 14-15. The event was played at the Plainview Country Club.

OLLU marked a round one of 282, round two of 287 and a round three of 273, which is the lowest third-round score in OLLU history. Winning the tournament was the University of Texas at Dallas with a three-round score of 817, followed by Wayland with an 818 and OLLU with an 842.

In fourth was the University of the Southwest with 861, followed by Heston University with 907 and Central Christian University with 911.

Leading the way for the Saints was Oliver Gaisford, who finished in a tie for fourth with a 69/68/68 = 205. John Martinez came in 11th place with a 72/73/67=212. Juan Limon followed in 12th place with a 70/71/72=213. Niall Langley-Brook finished with a 70/79/67=216, Oscar Gutierrez marked a 71/74/71=216 and Victor Peña recorded a score of 72/72/72=216 – all tying for 14th place.

Other finishers include Alex Marshall with 71/76/74=221 and Fernando Limon with 77/73/73=223.

A total of 34 players participated in the event.

The Saints will play their last fall tournament Oct. 21-22 at the University of Houston-Victoria for their Fall Classic in Victoria, Texas.
