ODESSA, TEXAS (Sept. 12, 2015) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's soccer team won its third consecutive game after defeating NCAA Division II University of Texas of the Permian Basin (UTPB) 2-1 Saturday at the UTPB Soccer Field.

The result brings the Saints to a 4-1 record on the season while the Falcons drop to 1-2.

Head Coach Shane Hurley said, "We had a good attitude and gave a good effort as a team, but we were a little shy in the final third. Overall it was a good result."

Turning Point

Two goals in three minutes were enough for the Saints to hold off the Falcons on their home field.

Individual Leaders

Jorge Cantu (SR/Gustavo Diaz Ordaz, Mexico) and Adrian Delgado (FR/Brownsville, Texas) each scored a goal for the Saints.

Inside the Box Score

  • Cantu opened up the scoring in the 67th minute with a header to a wide open net on a cross from Giovani Sierra (SR/Brownsville, Texas).
  • Three minutes later, Delgado put the Saints up 2-0 on a pass from Sebastian Luehr (SR/Flensburg, Germany).
  • Nathan Cotterell pulled one back for the Falcons from the penalty spot with two minutes remaining in the game.
