OLLU Edges Southwestern Before Rolling Concordia

Austin, Texas- The Our Lady of the Lake University men's tennis team continued its strong stretch of play with a dominant 7–0 sweep of Concordia University Texas just after edging Southwestern University in a 4–3 thriller.

Against Concordia, the Saints set the tone early in doubles competition. At No. 1 doubles, J. Gailey and C. Fusaro earned a decisive 6–1 victory over D. Beckles and D. Garcia. J. Majsajdr and B. Prod'homme followed with a 6–3 win at No. 2 against K. Talbot and A. Griffin to secure the doubles point. Although E. Costa and M. Nuziere fell 6–4 at No. 3 doubles to S. Scholtz and J. Riggs, OLLU carried a 1–0 lead into singles play.

The Saints were nearly flawless in singles action. Majsajdr battled at the top spot, defeating Scholtz in a competitive three-set match, 6–4, 4–6, 10–1, in a super tiebreak. Costa delivered a 6–2, 6–3 victory over Beckles at No. 2, while Prod'homme controlled his match at No. 3 with a 6–3, 6–4 win against Griffin. Fusaro dominated at No. 4, 6–0, 6–3, over Talbot.

Nuziere posted a commanding 6–0, 6–0 shutout at No. 5 against Garcia, and P. Guimaraes completed the sweep with a 6–0, 6–0 victory over J. Rectenwald at No. 6.

The 7–0 result followed OLLU's narrow 4–3 victory over Southwestern, where the Saints rallied from a doubles-point deficit with key singles wins from Costa, Fusaro, Prod'homme and Nuziere to clinch the match.

Across the two contests, Our Lady of the Lake University showcased both resilience in tight situations and dominance in commanding performances, outscoring its opponents 11–3 and building valuable momentum as the season progresses.
