WACO, TEXAS (March 7, 2023) - The Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Men's Track and Field Male Athletes of the Week have been announced for the dates of Feb. 27-March 5 with this week's honorees including Jalen Bell (track) and De'Jon Lewis (field). This is the first set of RRAC track and field weekly awards for the 2023 outdoor season.

Bell broke the OLLU record in the 100m with a time of 10.77 for third place at the Trinity Invitational in San Antonio. The sophomore from Killeen, Texas, and teammates Spencer Williams, Rodney Webber and Jesus Riefkhol-Delgado also set a new school record in the 4x100m Relay with a time of 41.23. The group qualified for nationals with their "A" standard mark. Bell also ran the 200m and placed third with a time of 21.66.

Lewis participated in the long jump and placed eighth overall with a 6.70m mark at the Trinity event. The sophomore from Killeen, Texas, also competed in the triple jump and came in third place with a 13.61m leap.
