OLLU Saints Men’s Cross Country Dominates Home Meet with First-Place Finish at OLLU Invitational
San Antonio, Texas– The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) men's cross country team delivered an outstanding performance on their home turf, claiming first place at the OLLU Invitational on Saturday morning. The Saints topped a four-team field with a strong team effort, finishing with an impressive average time of 26:44 in the 8K race.
Leading the charge for OLLU was Isai Moran, who crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 25:57, earning the individual title and setting the tone for the Saints. Close behind was teammate Damon Gutierrez, who secured second place with a time of 25:58, just one second behind Moran in a thrilling finish.
Rounding out for the Saints, Joseph Gonzalez claimed fourth place overall, finishing in 26:23. Tony Favella added depth to the team's scoring by finishing eighth overall with a time of 27:27, while Jose Saucedo closed out the Saints top five with an 11th-place finish in 27:58.
Also competing for the Saints were Joel Telles (28:03), Anthony Alaniz (28:44), and Ryan Aldana (30:19), all contributing to a strong team presence throughout the field.
With five runners in the top 11, OLLU's men showed both front-running dominance and depth, securing the team title in front of their home fans.
The Saints look to carry this momentum into the remainder of the season as they continue to prepare for the upcoming conference championship.
