OLLU Softball Announces the Return of Alyssa Flores
SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 19, 2024) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) softball team announces the return of standout Alyssa Flores to the 2025 squad.
Flores joined the team in the 2023 season as a transfer from St. Mary's University. In her first year with the Saints, she played in 54 games and had 112 at-bats with 10 runs, 32 hits, eight doubles, three home runs, 37 RBIs, and 25 walks. Last season, she started the season late and played 20 games, but still had 17 hits, four home runs, and 16 RBIs for a slugging percentage of .615.
Head Coach Bruce Lenington commented, "AJ has been a big reason why we have had so much success here at OLLU. Her leadership and experience at the national level are irreplaceable."
She was part of the team that reached the NAIA World Series in 2023 and won its first-ever Championship in 2024. Flores scored the game-winning home run in the bottom of the eighth, sending the team to the championship game.
Flores received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice in the spring of 2024 and is pursuing a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management.
The Saints, who are ranked No. 1 in the NAIA Softball Coaches' Top 25 Preseason Poll, will begin their 2025 season on Jan. 31 against Evangel University at home.
