Saints Advance Behind Big Bats and Strong Pitching

Columbus, Georgia- The Our Lady of the Lake University softball team delivered an impressive offensive performance in its victory over Marian University, combining timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and steady pitching to secure a commanding 10-2 win. The Saints showcased their depth throughout the lineup, recording 12 hits and scoring in multiple innings to overpower Marian on the national stage.

After Marian struck first with two early runs, OLLU responded quickly and never looked back. The Saints' offense came alive behind a breakout performance from Marisa Rosales, who led the attack by going 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, four RBIs, and three runs scored. Rosales consistently created momentum for the Saints and delivered some of the biggest hits of the game as OLLU steadily expanded its lead.

Novalee Gloria also played a major role in the victory, finishing with a double and four RBIs of her own. Her clutch hitting helped break the game open offensively and provided key insurance runs during the middle innings. Yezenia Perez added another strong performance at the plate, collecting two hits and driving in a run, while Lilly Rocha went 3-for-4 with an RBI to keep pressure on Marian's pitching staff throughout the contest.

OLLU also benefited from disciplined plate appearances and productive baserunning. Tania Rodriguez reached base three times and scored three runs, helping ignite the Saints' offense from the middle of the lineup. The Saints finished the game with 10 RBIs on 12 hits and did not strike out once, reflecting the team's composure and approach at the plate.

Inside the circle, Valeria Vielma started the game and battled through the opening innings before Annika Litterio entered in relief and shut the door on Marian's offense. Litterio earned the victory after tossing 3.2 scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and striking out two batters. Her steady performance helped preserve OLLU's momentum and prevented Marian from mounting a comeback.

Defensively, the Saints remained composed behind their pitching staff and capitalized on key opportunities throughout the game. OLLU's balanced effort on both sides of the ball highlighted the experience and confidence of a team determined to continue its postseason run.
