Twelve from OLLU Women's Soccer Selected as NAIA Scholar-Athletes
KANSAS CITY, MO. (Nov. 28, 2022) – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2022 Daktronics NAIA Women's Soccer Scholar-Athletes. The 2022 list features 1,557 student-athletes who achieved at least a 3.5 cumulative grade point average (GPA) at their institution.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended one full year at said institution.
Earning recogniztion from OLLU are the following:
Samantha Benne, a Business Marketing and Communications PR major, has been part of the Saints team since 2020. She played in 11 games, four as a starter. She took four shots, one on goal. She earned a 3.96 GPA.
Rachel Dziuba, a Biomathematics/Environmental Science major, has been part of the Saints team since 2020. She played and started in all 19 games this year. She recorded 10 shots, four on goal. Dziuba was named to the 2022 RRAC All-Tournament Team and was part of the All-Conference Honorable Mention Team. Dziuba earned a 4.0 GPA.
Sarah Miles, a Computer Information Systems and Security major, has been part of the Saints team since 2019. She played in 15 games, 13 as a starter this year. Miles had one goal and two assists, and 11 shots, nine on goal. She earned a 3.94 GPA.
Emily Morin, a Political Science major, was part of the Saints team since 2019. She earned a 3.54 GPA.
Samantha Nava, a Biology major, has been part of the Saints team since 2020. She played in 14 games, five as a starter. Nava had one assist, six shots and three on goal. She earned a 4.0 GPA.
Haven Ortiz, a Social Work major, has been a part of the Saints team since 2021. She played in 11 games, two as a starter. She had one goal and one assist, plus took 12 shots, four on goal. She earned a 3.59 GPA.
Riley Perez, a Finance/Business Management major, has been part of the Saints team since 2019. This year, she played in 15 games, eight as a starter. Perez scored four goals and had 11 shots, five on goal. Perez marked a 3.89 GPA.
Tess Pitcher, a Business Management major, has been part of the Saints team since 2020. She played in 18 games, 17 as a starter. She marked 56 saves and had four shutouts. She earned a 3.77 GPA.
Lyndee Rheinberger, an Education major, has been part of the Saints team since 2021. She played in 15 games, two as a starter. She scored one goal and added one assist, She took eight shots, six on goal. She earned a 4.0 GPA.
Jaylin Seto, a Kinesiology and Psychology major, has been part of the Saints team since 2018. She earned a 3.64 GPA.
Deanna Tarango, a Visual and New Media Arts major, has been part of the Saints team since 2020. She played in 18 games, all as a starter. Tarango had one assist, four shots and three on goal. She was named to the 2022 RRAC All-Conference First Team. Tarango earned a 3.80 GPA.
Ez Valles, a Psychology major, played in 19 games, six as a starter. She has been a part of the team since 2020. She scored three goals and added two assists. She took 12 shots, nine on goal. She earned a 3.53 GPA.
