WACO, TEXAS (Sept. 17, 2024) – Samantha Valadez of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) captured the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award for Sept. 9-15. This is the fourth set of conference awards for the 2024 women's soccer season.

Valadez guided the Saints to a 2-0 win over Schreiner last Monday. The senior goalkeeper from Houston posted her first shutout of the season with one save. Valadez's goals against average (1.00) is fourth best in the conference. OLLU is now 1-1-1 overall.
