OLLU Volleyball Drops Intense Match Against Texas Wesleyan University
SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 20, 2022) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team fell to Texas Wesleyan University (TWU) in four sets to conclude play in the Alamo City Volleyesta. The Saints move to 1-1 overall while the Rams improve to 3-0.
History
The Saints are 9-9 against the Rams in the all-time series.
Basics
The Saints started strong with a 25-23 first set win. Freshman Mia Dorsey put away the set point with a kill to give OLLU momentum heading into the second frame. The second set was back-and-forth scoring until a 12-12 tie. The Saints committed a few errors and the Rams capitalized. They took the set after a service error by Mia Francis and an attacking error by Camila Ramirez.
OLLU faltered in the third set 25-20. The Rams jumped out to an 8-2 lead and didn't look back. OLLU came within four points but attacking errors hurt the Saints again late in the frame. Texas Wesleyan posted a .269 hitting percentage in the fourth and final set to claim the victory. OLLU struggled by hitting -.065 with eight errors. Dorsey finished with 11 kills for the Saints and Evelyn Ortega had 16 digs.

OLLU had a total of 75 digs, led by Ortega with 16. Emily Lewis tallied 18 digs for the Rams.

Ramirez had three service aces for the Saints. Lewis and O'Brien had two aces each for Texas Wesleyan.
