OLLU Volleyball Falls to Texas Lutheran University in First Road Match
SEGUIN, TEXAS (Sept. 14, 2022) – The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) volleyball team lost to NCAA D3 Texas Lutheran University (TLU) 3-0 on Wednesday. The Saints drop to 5-4 while the Bulldogs improve to 8-2.
Head Coach Scott Mattera commented, "We played like a young team on the road for the first time. We showed flashes of brilliance but had way too many focus and mental errors. We must coach them better than that to be prepared for a tough environment against a disciplined team like Texas Lutheran."

Basics
The Saints were swept on the road by TLU on Wednesday. OLLU was unable to get any momentum in the first set and totaled 15 points. The Saints played better in the second half. They turned the hitting percentage around and had eight kills. Mia Dorsey made two big kills late in the set to give the Saints a 19-18 lead. Texas Lutheran was able to rattle off three straight points to force the Saints into a timeout. Attacking errors haunted the Saints down the stretch of the second frame and the Bulldogs went ahead 2-0. OLLU battled until the end in the third set and had 14 kills. Despite leading 20-15, the Saints were unable to finish the set off. Dorsey recorded another kill later in the set and the Saints trailed 24-23. Paige Day gave the Bulldogs the win on the following point with a kill.

Julissa Casas had two service aces for the Saints. Peyton Sulak tallied two service aces for Texas Lutheran.
