Three Saints Earn Conference Volleyball Players of the Week Awards

WACO, TEXAS (Oct. 24, 2022) - Mia Dorsey of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) collected the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week award for Oct. 17-23. Lauren Reynard was named RRAC Setter of the Week and Tina Trevino earned recognition as the RRAC Defender of the Week for the same dates. This is the ninth set of conference awards for the 2022 volleyball season.

Dorsey powered the Saints to back-to-back victories over Xavier University (XULA) and a 3-0 week. The freshman outside hitter racked up 11 kills in both matches against XULA and tacked on 16 in a 3-2 win over Texas Lutheran University (TLU). Dorsey averaged 3.5 kills per set and posted a .158 hitting percentage. She is second in the conference in kills (246) and kills per set (3.3). OLLU took control of first place in the RRAC at 12-0 with a 16-4 mark on the season. 

Reynard set the tone for OLLU with 92 assists last week. The freshman setter from San Antonio averaged 8.4 assists per set including 10.3 in the first match against XULA. Reynard compiled 35 assists in the five-set win over TLU. She leads the conference in assists (605) and assists per set (9.0). 

Trevino accounted for 55 digs in the Saints' big week. The sophomore libero from Laredo, Texas, registered 5.0 digs per set and a total of 39 against TLU. Trevino's 5.1 digs per set on the season leads all RRAC defenders.
