Dorsey and Trevino Earn Final Volleyball Conference Weekly Awards

WACO, TEXAS (Nov. 7, 2022) - Mia Dorsey of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) claimed the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week award for Oct. 31-Nov. 6. OLLU's Tina Trevino earned the RRAC Defender of the Week honor for the same dates. This is the 11th and final set of conference awards for the 2022 volleyball season. 

Dorsey averaged 5.1 kills per set as the Saints closed out a perfect conference regular season on Saturday. The freshman outside hitter from San Antonio collected 36 kills as OLLU won back-to-back matches against Jarvis Christian University (JCU). Dorsey missed the school record for kills in a match by one with 26 in a 3-1 victory in the second meeting. She posted a .350 hitting percentage and ranks second in the RRAC in that category and kills (293). The Saints are 16-0 in conference play and 20-4 on the season heading into the RRAC tournament. 

Trevino recorded 32 digs as the Saints extended their winning streak to 15 matches with the wins over JCU. The sophomore libero from Laredo, Texas, had 19 digs in a 3-1 win and averaged 4.6 digs per set for the week. Trevino led the conference with 5.0 digs per set for the season.
