WACO, TEXAS (Sept. 23, 2024) - Mia Dorsey of Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) landed the Red River Athletic Conference (RRAC) Volleyball Attacker of the Week award for Sept. 16-22. Tina Trevino was named RRAC Defender of the Week for the same dates. Dorsey has been chosen twice this season while Trevino earns her third award. This is the fifth set of weekly winners for the 2024 RRAC volleyball season.  

Dorsey guided the Saints to a split in their two-game series with Texas A&M University-Texarkana (TAMUT). After OLLU lost on Friday, the junior outside hitter from Bethel Bend, Texas, bounced back on Saturday with a double-double of 17 kills and 10 digs in a 3-1 victory. Dorsey averaged 3.4 kills per set for the week with a .322 hitting percentage. She is second in the RRAC with 157 kills this season. OLLU is 1-1 in conference play and 8-7 overall.

Trevino recorded 43 digs in the series with TAMUT. The senior libero from Laredo, Texas, posted 29 digs in the victory on Saturday and averaged 6.1 digs per set for the week. Trevino leads the RRAC with 341 digs this season.
