OLLU Saints Women’s Cross Country Shines at Home, Clinches First-Place Finish at OLLU Invitational

San Antonio, Texas– The Our Lady of the Lake University (OLLU) women's cross country team proved they are a force to be reckoned with, winning the OLLU Invitational on Saturday. The Saints led the way in a competitive four-team field, finishing with an impressive team average time of 23:56 in the 6K race.

Kristen Torres spearheaded the victory for the Saints, finishing in 4th place overall with a time of 22:20. Her strong performance set the stage for the team's dominant showing. Just behind her was Zaddie Santacruz, who earned 5th place with a time of 23:04, helping to keep the Saints within striking distance of the top spots throughout the race.

Liliana Hernandez added to the team's success with a 6th-place finish, clocking in at 23:35, while Daylah Vega secured 10th place with a time of 24:49. Victoria Bartlett completed the Saints top five, finishing with a solid time of 25:55.

Additional strong finishes came from Claudia Lopez (26:09), Reese Vernieuw (26:26), and Valeria Pena (27:06), all contributing to the Saints well-rounded and impressive team effort.

The OLLU women's team showed their depth and teamwork throughout the 6K course, with several runners finishing close together, ensuring the Saints remained in the hunt for the win from start to finish.

The Saints victory on their home turf highlights the strength and cohesion of the OLLU women's cross country team as they look forward to upcoming competitions and continue to build toward a successful season.
