Men's Tennis Falls To Rattlers

San Antonio, Texas- The men's tennis team from Our Lady of the Lake University competed against unbeaten St. Mary's University (TX) on February 19 at Rohrbach Tennis Stadium, falling by a final score of 5-2 in a competitive road contest.

In doubles play, OLLU secured one victory. At No. 2 doubles, Corentin Fusaro and Jacob Gailey earned a 6-3 win with steady serving and effective net play. The No. 1 pairing of Jaroslav Majsajdr and Matis Nuziere dropped a 6-4 decision in a closely contested match, while Eliot Costa and Bastien Prod'homme fell 6-4 at No. 3. St. Mary's claimed the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 3.

Singles competition featured several tightly played matches. At No. 4 singles, Eliot Costa recorded a straight-sets victory, 6-4, 6-4, providing OLLU with its first point of the afternoon. Matis Nuziere added the second point at No. 6 singles, responding after a first-set loss to win 0-6, 6-2, 6-4 in a three-set effort.

Jaroslav Majsajdr competed strongly at No. 1 singles, pushing the opening set to a tiebreak before ultimately falling in straight sets. Gabriel Nogueira (No. 2), Bastien Prod'homme (No. 3), and Corentin Fusaro (No. 5) each faced disciplined opposition as St. Mary's secured the remaining singles courts to clinch the team result.

With the outcome, OLLU moves to 2-2 on the season. The match provided valuable competition against a 5-0 St. Mary's squad and continued to test the Saints lineup early in the spring schedule.
